Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The Universe remains at heart unhurt."

~ Emerson

Beautiful.

Since we are the individualized expression of The Universe, there is also a place within us that has never been hurt. Ever. It behooves us to journey within and access this place of peace. I believe it exists, patiently waiting for us to find it, and be wrapped in its warm embrace.

On a personal note, I attended Ralph Waldo Emerson Junior High. The hallways were lined with his quotes. Little did I know then that The Universe was planting tiny seeds within the hallways of my own mind, and I would one day become a student of metaphysics - drawing on the words of Emerson for Spiritual inspiration.

Thanks, Ralph, for being there for me all along...

Creating

"Inasmuch as we are always creating, why not create the life you want instead of the one that you don't want?"

~ Rev. Ron Fox

I'm not saying that I have mastered this, but I really like the quote! It speaks to deliberate creating (Abraham-Hicks Teachings on Law of Attraction). Sometimes we are creating by default. Our thoughts are always creating the life we are experiencing. This happens whether we are conscious of our thoughts or not. So if we're thinking about something we DON'T want, those thoughts are manifesting more of what we DON'T want.

We might as well shift into thinking about what we DO want. Then we are deliberately creating more of what we DO want.

So simple...a caveman could do it!

Unfolding

"The more we allow ourselves to unfold, the less likely we are to unravel."

~ Rabbi Irwin Kula

The dictionary defines unfold as "to bring out of a folded state, spread or open out, to reveal or display, to develop."

For me this quote means if we allow our true nature to be developed and revealed, it will be a lot easier on us than resisting who we truly are and falling apart.

We are always at choice...

DO WHT U Heart

The personalized license plate I saw today said: DO WHT U Heart. It had the heart symbol at the end, not the word heart. Do what you love. I felt it was God's way of communicating just to me! I AM moving towards doing what I love, more and more, and letting go of what is not joyful. How about you? Sometimes I don't stop to think that I could let go of something I'm not enjoying. It doesn't occur to me. We can get into habits and ruts, making the groove deeper and deeper, so it's harder to realize we have another path to choose from.

My questions for you to ponder today are: What are you doing now that you don't enjoy? Can you imagine NOT doing it? What would you love to be doing instead???

If you've got the idea in your head right now of what you would love to be doing, take a moment to notice how it feels. You are creating the energy vibration and the feeling place of the thing you'd love to do. You have just placed your order with the Universe! This is using the Law of Attraction to manifest what you want. We will be talking a lot more about this in the days ahead...

God's Package Deal

Wrapped up inside the package of our problem-of-the-day is the spiritual solution. God always provides us with the means to solve what is challenging us. If we can keep our perspective optimistic and say, "I know you're in there somewhere God," I believe we will find God in the mix. Sometimes I say, "I don't know what the solution is here, but God does." Be willing to unwrap the package, and then ask the solution to reveal itself. Expect it, and you will find it. I promise.

The best part was leaving...

I attended Sunday service today at my Spiritual Center. The teens came up to thank everyone for sponsoring their week at teen summer camp. They proudly wore their new t-shirts with the camp theme, "Let's Get Metaphysical!" One by one, they spoke of what camp meant to them. Most included the phrase, "it was awesome." Then Emily spoke. She shared that being 13, this was her first time at teen camp. She said the best part for her was leaving. After the chuckles from everyone, she explained that she was excited to leave and take what she had learned with her. She was looking forward to seeing how she would use these new spiritual tools in her life. I sat in awe of her enthusiasm and her awareness at such a young age.

What if for each of us the best part was leaving? What if whatever we encounter during the day - positive or negative - left us with an enthusiasm to glean the learning and integrate it into our lives.

What am I pretending not to know?

Driving home from the triumphant creation of my blog, I am wondering what I will talk about first. This "asking" of the Divine was "answered" rather quickly. In front of me I notice a tow-truck, towing a very old Toyota pick up, with camper shell. To say it was a clunker would be polite. Across the back window, in 2" white adhesive letters, is the message: "What am I pretending not to know?" I must admit, I started laughing, guessing what THEY were pretending not to know, as their truck was being towed away (feel free to add your comments on the possiblities). Then I was struck with the realization that Spirit was right there with me, letting me know I was on track with the idea to create the blog, and that Spirit would be "supplying" me with the fodder for postings. It was going to be a fun joint venture. Spirit and me.

So, what am I pretending not to know? That's an easy one...how wonderful I am. People tell me this, and I say "thank you," sometimes believing it, but the old "critical voice" says otherwise. Who is that "critical voice" and why am I allowing it to live rent free in my head? I am learning to be aware when it's happening, and to shift into seeing myself through the eyes of Source. Like you, I am a work in progress. The trick is to love myself, especially when I haven't yet given the critical voice its eviction notice.

What are YOU pretending not to know?? Feel free to post your comments here.

Gratitude to Laura

It is fitting to begin with gratitude. Thank you to Spirit for manifesting my new friendship with Laura. A special thank you to you, Laura, for your support, inspiration and all the laughs we shared trying to figure out how to create this blog. It's up and running! Miracles do happen. We got the giggles reading the "help" directions on how to "feed the burner," (we didn't know it was hungry), or was it "burn the feeder?" (we couldn't find matches). Those of you who are also sometimes "tech-challenged" will see the humor in this, I hope.

Next up...Deep Thoughts for one of the early posts to this blog.

My First Posting in this Lifetime :-)

Welcome to my first post! Thank you for opening up your lives and emails and allowing me to enter into this conversation. I am excited to be sharing my world with each of you. As you join me on this journey, it is my hope that you will enjoy my passion for all things Spiritual. Others may know me as a devoted mom, a sister, a lover, a nurturing friend, a UCLA Bruin math major, a computer programmer, a teacher, a channel of spirit guides, an intuitive spiritual advisor, or an energy healer. It is here in this forum, that I will gather all that I am, which is God expressing, and share how Spirit-as-me views life. It is my strong faith in the Go(o)d in all things that comforts me, keeps me laughing in the face of my fears, and allows me to persevere. So let's get this party started! Love, Sherry
